Zara Burgess Explores
An introduction
My very first photographic love was landscape and wildlife photography. The natural world and the animals that inhabit it will forever be my greatest inspiration. I adore the challenge, the journey, the grounding experiences, the knowledge and the eternal appreciation for our planet that comes with time outdoors and capturing the World in an ethical manner with my own artistic approach is perhaps my favourite way to spend my time.
Sharing and caring for the natural beauty
Alongside my online print store and market stalls I aim to build an online blog to further share my journeys, images and learnings to help inspire you to not only get outside and spend intentional time in the great outdoors but also to further understand the importance of conservation and how we can all do our part.
Fill your space with inspiration
My own workspace at home is lit up with art from artists who inspire me and of pieces that bring me comfort, joy, peace and great talking points with my loved ones. The concept of my art being that for you fills me with so much warmth. I truly hope that you can find a piece in my print collections that brings you warmth, maybe feels like home, holds a sentimental value or just brings you such a positive energy overall.
Looking to work together?
It would be such an absolute honour to help raise funds, use my social platforms or work alongside wildlife shelters, conservation groups or fundraising events to provide images to help raise awareness and build platforms. If you are a part of a non for profit or you would like to nominate one that you know of please do reach out and we can discuss options.
Giving Back
Australia has five species of Black Cockatoo, four of these five species are either endangered or vulnerable with the biggest cause being habitat loss. I've compiled my best images of Black Cockatoos to create a collection that I'm incredibly proud to share with you and also to help raise funds to aid in the conservation of these species. 10% of every purchase from my Black Cockatoo collection will be donated to Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre based in WA.
Important notes I'd love to share!

1. Any and all wildlife images are taken in an ethical manner

Any of my wildlife images are of the animals in their natural environment taking part in their natural behaviour. Feeding, calling, venturing off of tracks and causing purposeful disturbance or using playbacks are not things I take any part in.

2. I won't always share the locations of my images,

and I'll never expect you to either. There are negative effects on the environment when sharing or over promoting certain areas, especially if specific wildlife has been viewed there.

3. you don't have to travel far to find something special!

In the digital age it can be so easy to feel like you need to travel incredibly far from home to photograph, see or experience something 'worthwhile.' So many of my favourite locations, experiences and photographs have happened within thirty minutes of my home, the natural beauty is everywhere!
